Shooting at close range in Yangon one killed, injuring one

Two gunmen triggered a former 100-houses leader and his companion in Yangon’s Thingangyun Township when the victims were spending time at a tea shop on July 7 at an estimated 10:15 am.

The gunmen came to the tea shop with a battery-powered bicycle; fire on the victims; then, left conveniently, according to a resident who was present at the scene.

The two victims are reportedly known as Ye Htut (a former 100-houses leader) and his companion Zaw Tun Oo.

Ye Htut was wounded by one shot in his left hand, one in the right hand, and one in the left arm. Zaw Tun Oo died on the spot from a gunshot in the left side of the head.

Security forces found eight THAN ARMS AUTC bullets at the scene.
