Myanmar makes its first step to nuclear power plant in Russia trip

High-level delegation of Myanmar led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Russia made the very first step effectively to building a nuclear power plant in Myanmar, according to the reports.
The Russian media Sputnik reported that Myanmar and Russia signed a roadmap for cooperation on the peaceful use of atomic energy for 2022-23 during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) that is being convened in Vladivostok, Russia.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing discussed with Russian officials atomic development in Myanmar in the previous meetings between top-level visits of the two nations.
This cooperation in the nuclear sector will provide possible initiation of building a nuclear power plant in the country with low-power reactors, report says.
The Commander-in-Chief visited Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School in Vladivostok, the Pacific Fleet Headquarters yesterday as part of his formal trip to Russia. He will also meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The 7th EEF is being held in Vladivostok from September 5-8.
The two countries discussed a wide range of issues related to politics, trade, investment, and defense and security during the visit of Sergey Lavrov to Myanmar.
The two countries are obviously boosting their relationship in multi-sectors, especially in trade, defense, and cultural exchange.
