Building nuclear power with low-power reactors within these few years will be the first step in nuclear sector development, Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said.

Nuclear Technology and Information Center will be established in Yangon under the Nuclear Energy Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

“Opening of this center is intended to execute peaceful and safe use of nuclear energy. However, we won’t do it without informing the public. First, we will make sure to attain the public’s understanding, cooperation, and awareness to develop the nuclear energy sector development in a safe way,” Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said.
