Unknown armed group abduct seven deporting Chinese men in Shan

Seven Chinese nationals who were going to be deported to the PRC had been abducted by the unidentified armed group in Kyaukme, Shan State on October 2, State Administration Council’s Information Team released a press statement.

The Chinese nationals were on a ride under the surveillance of four immigration officers from Thabeikkyin township, Mandalay at an estimated 4:30 am heading to Shan State borderline to hand over them, the statement said.

The vehicle was forced to stop by a group of armed men at Milestone No. 114 along the Pyidaungsu Road located near Lwelkhaw village in Kyaukme.

Four immigration officers: Tun Aung Hlaing, Naing Moe Zaw, Kyaw Soe Khaing, and Khaing Zaw Myo were released to the nearest forest.

However, seven Chinese nationals in their twenties were brought to deport to the PRC: Pan Han Bin (25 yrs.), Lin Zhen Fen (25 yrs.), Yang Jun Feng (32 yrs.), Liu Fei Feng (25 yrs.), Sheng Bao (24 yrs.), Yan Bin (22 yrs.), and Zhouli (23 yrs.) were abducted, according to the SAC statement.

Authorities are investigating the case in order to save the abducted Chinese nationals.
