Open and effective investigation must do on terror shooting at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda - NSPNC

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) strongly condemns the terror shooting at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda’s Kinpun base camp that happened yesterday (October 12) and said an open and effective investigation has to be done over the incident.
The NSPNC released an objection statement this morning (October 13) on the terror shooting at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.
“The place where the shooting occurred locates in the territory controlled by KNU/KNLA’s brigade 1. The shooting was committed by the KNU/KNLA’s brigade 1 and the PDF joint forces,” said the statement continuing that the KNU/KNLA should protect the public since it is one of the NCA-signatory groups, in fact, even though it doesn’t agree with the current political situations with the Tatmadaw. “Therefore, the NSPNC strongly condemns the KNU/KNLA for committing the terror shooting against the public crowded site at the gate of Kinpun base camp of the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.”
The KNU/KNLA has to be taken severe action as per Section 3 of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, the statement said.
The shooting occurred yesterday at the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda amid of Buddhist Thadingyut festival period killing three on the spot and injuring 19 others.
