Authorities plan to promote travel and tour between Myanmar and St. Petersburg

Myanmar Embassy in Moscow released a press statement that relevant officials of the Myanmar government and St. Petersburg authority discussed promoting tourism cooperation between the countries.
A video conference was held on October 19 between the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism of Myanmar and the Government of St. Petersburg’s tourism industry development committee on uplifting tourism cooperation.
The Union Minister Dr. Htay Aung said, “We have to cooperate in the tourism sector to get the better result and development in social economic between Russia and Myanmar. It also requires cooperating with the Government of Myanmar-Russia Tourism and private organizations widely.”
The Chairman of the State Administration Council met with senior officers of the St. Petersburg government and discussed promoting travel and tourism and opening the Consulate General Office in St. Petersburg during his visit to Russia in July.
Myanmar has granted a one-year visa exemption for Russian tourists since July 2022 to attract more Russian citizens to visit Myanmar.
Direct flight between Myanmar and Russia is also expected to fly by the end of 2022.
