Myanmar Govt plans to bring back its citizens in trouble in middle east countries

The #Ministry_of_Labour of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar is preparing steps to bring back the Myanmar national workers who are in trouble in the Middle East countries as soon as possible, according to the Ministry.

At present, there are thousands of #Myanmar_nationals working in Middle East countries including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Amongst, some work as the housemaid and other blue-collar jobs mostly without legal permission; and face social adversities on various grounds.

Dr. Pwint San, the Union Minister for the Ministry of Labour, said that the ministry is carrying out necessary processes and formulating budget schemes to revive those, who encountered trouble, and to bring them back to the motherland.

The Union Minister also directed to installation of necessary procedures to prevent illegal migrations to those countries. With regard to the preventive measures, awareness-raising programs on illegal migrations will be conducted; and travelers with a visit visa, who are suspected of having the plan to work illegally employment in foreign, will be inspected at the Airport gate. It is also directed to take action on illegal agents or human traffickers.

The Ministry of Labour has organized a board of scrutiny and plans are ongoing to take effective measures on those who breach the laws.

Dr. Pwint San requested the related ministries and departments to coordinate the process of bringing back and saving the Myanmar nationals who are having troubles abroad.

In recent months, Myanmar authorities saved seven illegal female migrants who were the victims of human trafficking in Dubai.

As well in 2021 after the political transition, the flagship Moattama saved 1086 Myanmar nationals who were stuck and prisoned in Malaysia after Covid.
