SAC discusses articles with UWSP, NDAA, SSPP for amending Constitution

The State Administration Council’s peace talks team met the United Wa State Party (#UWSP), the National Democratic Alliance Army (#NDAA), and the Shan State Progress Party (#SSPP) and discussed some detailed Constitutional provisions to amend.

The meeting was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Naypyidaw on January 5, according to the press statement released by the SAC.

Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (#NSPNC) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, NSPNC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, and the secretary Lt-Gen Min Naung attended the meeting.

From the EAO side, the vice-chairman of the UWSP Lau Yaku, the vice-chairman of the NDAA San Pae, and vice-chairman-2 of the SSPP Sao Khun Seng attended.

The SAC stated that all parties disclosed their political demands in the mutual discussion, in which, they focused on the Constitutional sections which play crucial roles in building a democratic and federal union.

The three EAOs will continue meeting with the State Peace Talks Team on January 6.

All of the abovementioned three EAOs attended the peace talks invited by the Chairman of the SAC as well as the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in April 2022.
