The Myanmar authorities are conducting maintenance of electricity amenities along #Myawaddy_Mae_Sot border checkpoint on January 5.

Thai news agencies expect high potential advantages will be gained from the reopening of the gate.

On the other hand, the State Administration Council announced yesterday that the #Kawkareik_Myawaddy_Asia_Road is back to normalcy and under the control of the authorities since it was seized by the joint forces of KNLA and #PDF in recent days.

After the restoration of regional tranquility on the road, cargo trucks and passenger vehicles return running on the way since the afternoon of January 4, according to the statement.

The joint forces of KNLA and terrorist PDFs took footholds and shelters within the villages located near Kaw Nwe Village in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State to commit devastation-oriented military operations. The insurgents and the terrorists attacked, bombed up, fired, and torched the vehicles running through the road. Therefore, the civilian vehicles were postponed which led to commodity flow blockage and people fled.
