At least nine immigration offices torched within two years

The State Administration Council announced that at least nine offices of Immigration and Population Department across the country were set fired and burnt by the terrorists as of January 20.

According to the information, two offices from the Immigration Department in Chin State were destroyed in the arson attack in 2021.

On 14 October 2021 at an estimated 10:30 pm, the office of Chin State Immigration Officer was burnt down by the incendiary bombs by Chin Defense Forces, as per the SAC statement.

Again on 23 October 2021 at an estimated 10 pm, approximately 300 forces of terrorists PDF conducted another arson attack at the office of Immigration Officer of Kanpetlet Township, Chin State. The office was destroyed in the fire.
In 2022, immigration offices in Sagaing Region and Chin State were set ablaze.

On 11 October 2022 at an estimated 9:30 pm, staff housing and officer housing of the Immigration Department of Tedim Township, Chin State were set on fire by the CDF.

Again on 23 October 2022 at an estimated 4:30 am, office of the immigration officer of Depayin, Sagaing was set on fire; and approximately 20 PDF terrorists set fire to immigration office of Myaung City, Sagaing on 5 December at an estimated 1 pm, according to the SAC statement.

In January 2023, a total of four immigration offices were incinerated and burned down by the PDF terrorists in Magwe and Sagaing as of January 20.

On 3 January 2023 at an estimated 9:30 pm, three terrorists trespassed the office compound in Myaing City, Magwe and set fire to the office.

Again on 9 January 2023 at an estimated 8:30 pm, approximately 20 terrorist PDFs burned down the immigration office of Sarlingyi, Sagaing.

On 12 January 2023 at an estimated 1:30 am, approximately 20 PDFs set ablaze to the immigration office of Yesagyo Township, Magwe Region.

Again on 19 January 2023 at an estimated 7 pm, Sagaing Region immigration department was attacked by the arson attack by the PDF terrorists, as per the news announcement.

Attacking and destroying the immigration office and documents are part of the intention to destroy the upcoming 2023 General Election.

At present, joint teams from the immigration department and Union Election Commission are taking on-ground population statistics throughout the country. On the other hand, the team members have been killed by terrorists.
