Myanmar, China engage in bilateral agricultural cooperation talks

The Myanmar Rice Federation released the news that they held a bilateral discussion for promoting the rice trading between Myanmar and China.

A bilateral discussion was held on 20th June, where representatives from the Myanmar Rice Federation and the Hunan Province Secretary of the Communist Party convened to address key matters pertaining to rice agriculture, production, and trading.

During the discussion, Myanmar Rice Federation presented about the bilateral cooperation on rice trading and agricultural sectors.

Other related topics such as farming machinery, fertilizer trading, and investments in the agricultural industry were also presented. Both parties actively participated in exchanging ideas and strategies to enhance these aspects.

China's representatives also expressed their interest in supporting the production of hybrid rice in Myanmar and the cultivation of highly qualified rice varieties. The emergence of agricultural expertise and capacity-building sessions were also discussed, signifying China's commitment to mutual growth and knowledge sharing.

It is worth noting that Huaihua city, located in Hunan Province, occupies a strategic position in the western part of China's One Belt One Road Initiative. This initiative encompasses the construction of a railway spanning Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and China, with Huaihua city serving as a crucial node along this route.
