Thailand PTTEP proposes infrastructure construction for gas distribution in Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwaddy and Yangon

Recent reports said that Thailand’s big petroleum enterprise PTTEP’s Delt Gas Transportation Limited (DGT) has reportedly proposed to construct gas pipeline and onshore infrastructures to deliver gas through Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwaddy and Yangon regions.
The DGT submitted reports for feasibility study and environmental assessment (EA) report to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
It is reported that the DGT aims to support and provide positive backing for the Domestic Gas-to-Power Project (DG2P) for ensuring the energy accessibility in Myanmar.
The proposed length of the pipeline to deliver gas in the project will be 477 kilometers.
The 300-kilometer-long offshore pipeline will be passing through Tanintharyi Region and Ayeyarwaddy Region where 177-kilometer-long onshore pipeline will be commenced from Zawtika Center from Kanbauk; then passing through Mottama gulf. It will be connected to the combined-cycle power plant located in Kyaiklat and No. 2power station located in Htantabin. The pipeline with be connected from Mottama gulf to the abovementioned stations through Daw Nyein.
The construction of the pipeline project is projected to commence in 2024 and expected to finish in 2026.
