Myanmar-Laos trade expected to promote via upgrading Kenglat Trade Station

The Kenglat border trade station located in Tachileik District has been upgraded and the opening ceremony of the trade station was held on 26th August.

The newly upgraded Kenglat border trade station is expected to uplift the trade route of Myanmar and Laos, the Union Minister for Commerce said.

The Kenglat border trade station was established by Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Fund (2021). It is located in Kenglat town, Thachileik District in Eastern Shan State.

The Union Minister for Commerce Aung Naing Oo said that bilateral relations and friendship between people of the two countries will be strengthened through that border trade station.

The two Southeast Asian countries have similar traditions, cultures and religious belief since many centuries ago.

After the friendship bridge between the countries was finished and opened, trade route between the two countries has been promoted although it was hesitated by the Mekong River.
