Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing invited all ethnic armed leaders to attend the 8th anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). He made the invitation on 28th September.

Upcoming October 15 is the eighth anniversary of signing the NCA.

The Army Chief said, “We have to convene the anniversary with full essence. We invite all ethnic leaders as much as we can. We also now are inviting the foreign representatives via telephones or letters. Some replied us they will come.”

He commented that both NCA signatory leaders and non-signatory leaders should attend the celebration if they really want peace.

There are ten NCA signatory groups in Myanmar. Amongst, RCSS, PNLO, ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, NMSP and LDU are discussing with the SAC for peace. In addition, three non-signatory groups involving UWSP, NDAA and SSPP also discuss for peace with the government.
