Over 900 EVs registered at Road Transport Administration Department

Within 9 months of 2023, a total of 918 electric vehicles (EV) have been lined for registration, according to the Road Transport Administration Department.

From January to September, 916 EVs and two light tracks were permitted for registration.

“The purchasers have been increasing as EVs’ prices are reaching at the fair prices compairing to the petroleum used cars. All vehicles registered at the department have entered to the market but the price is at the stable level. It likes depending on the demands,” an experience domestic dealer said.

The prices of EVs are ranging between over 9 billion kyats and 20 billion kysts depending on the types and moderns. The prices have not been decreasing although the import EVs have been increasing to the market, as per the information from the market.

There have been various moderns of 3,056 EVs registered locally till the end of September, according the released statement by Road Transport Administration Department.

The EVs were imported with the approval of the National Electric Vehicle and Related Industries Development Steering Committee.
