Myanmar’s top generals sentenced 20 years transportation with corruption

Lieutenant General Moe Myint Tun, the chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission, chairman of the Foreign Exchange Supervisory Committee and Central Committee for Ensuring Smooth of Trade and Goods and Brigadier General Yan Naung Soe who served as the Joint Secretary of the Central Committee for Ensuring Smooth of Trade and Goods were charged by the Court Martial twenty years transportation term for committing corruption and treason, the State Administration Council (SAC) released the statement on Monday.

As per the SAC’s statement, Lt. Gen. Moe Myint Tun took bribes and illegally kept foreign currencies in hand while he was serving at the high rank positions. In addition, he intentionally failed to take action against the traders who manipulated the palm oil prices beyond the reference rate set by the government.

Furthermore, Brig. Gen. Yan Naung Soe also took bribes from the businesspersons and created channels between those businesspersons and Lt. Gen. Moe Myint Tun for the matters related to forex exchange, goods policy and other economic policies. He also kept foreign currencies in hand illegally, the SAC statement stated.

Both generals are assumed to be committing treasons violating the roadmap and objectives adopted by the SAC, the statement claimed.

In addition, both involved in the civilian businesses which violate the directives related to the military disciplines, the SAC claimed.
