UEC announced orientation on Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine

It is reported that Union Election Commission (UEC) will give orientation on the application of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) towards the public.

The UEC made the announcement on 10th October.

The Commission said that they are coordinating together with the respective department for the application of Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) to apply it in the upcoming election.

Starting from 18th August, explanation on how to vote by using the MEVM and test voting will be run for government service personnel from different ministerial department. The orientation will be conducted at the respective department and ministry from Naypyidaw, Union Territory.

Currently, the UEC has publicly announced that the people within the Union Territory will be given the orientation on how to use the voting machine and how to vote.

Relating to the voting machine and how to use it, the orientation session will be held at Township Assembly Hall in Ottara Thiri Township in Naypyidaw from 11th October to 13 October.

Moreover, at the Township Assembly Hall of Pobbathiri Township from 17 to 20 October, in ZeyarThiri Township from 23rd to 27th October, in Tatkone Township from 31st October to 6th November, in Pyinmana Township from 7th to 13th November, in Dekkhina Thiri Township from 14th to 17th November, the voter education orientation will be held.

The orientation will be continued in Laewei Township from 20th to 24th November and in ZabuThiri Township from 28th to 30th November respectively.

The UEC announced that all the voters living in Union Territory can learn the voting system and can practice voting by themselves according to their designated day.

UEC has also conducted the orientation session on MEVM for political parties at the Yangon Government Office.
