Myanmar Military retakes Thanbo station in Nawnghkio by disproportionate force

It is reported that Thanbo station in Nawnghkio Township, which was previously under the control of the terrorist groups known as the TNLA (Ta'ang National Liberation Army) and the PDF (People's Defense Force), has been retaken by the Myanmar Military, employing disproportionate force.

On January 2nd, the TNLA and Mandalay PDF terrorists infiltrated a Myanmar Military base in Thanbo Village, Nawnghkio Township, Shan State, using disproportionate force. They successfully seized control of the station on January 3rd.

The TNLA publicly announced that they seized Lieutenant Colonel Thet Aung from the Myanmar Military side, as well as drone jammers and other ammunitions.

According to the information reported by a reliable source close to the security forces, the Myanmar Military successfully regained the Thanbo station which was previously captured by the TNLA and PDF terrorists.

The source recounted, "On 9 January, the station was raided with disproportionate force and they had regained full control. They are currently conducting security operations in the surrounding area. The terrorist groups have withdrawn back to Lashio."

The station was also subjected to an attack by the TNLA and PDF terrorists in October 2023, utilizing disproportionate force.
