The escalating conflict between the Myanmar Military and the Rakhine insurgent known as ‘AA’ in Minbya Township, Rakhine State, has been reported. A local source reported that several phone lines have been cut off as well on 10 January.

Since 5 am, the armed conflicts have escalated, marked by the audible sounds of weapons. Heightened worries have prompted some locals to evacuate their homes. Although the latest phone interview with a Minbya resident occurred around 8 am on January 10th, subsequent follow-up calls are currently impossible. As a result, the present conditions in the town remain unattainable for updates.

As per local accounts, "Since early morning around 5 am, gunfire has been ongoing, notably audible from the southern side, specifically Kyein Taung. We're currently in the process of evacuating as all our family members are deeply concerned."

Regarding the current situation in Minbya, another local individual mentioned witnessing smoke coming out from the Minbya area.

According to local reports, civilians have been reportedly injured due to the impact of heavy artillery falls and explosions.

As per certain local news agencies, the AA has allegedly instigated hostilities and armed conflicts against Myanmar Military battalions in Minbya. Due to limited access, updated local news for follow-up cannot be obtained at this time.

On January 9th, armed conflicts between the Myanmar Military and the AA broke out around Paletwa Township. It has been reported that the AA attacked the Meewah strategic zone at the entrance of Kyauktaw and Paletwa on the same day. Additionally, an armed conflict occurred near the Thayak Mara Aung Pagoda in Mrauk-U.

Additionally, on January 8th, the AA launched an attack on the Danyawaddy Regional Naval Command base located in Kyaukphyu Township.
