ICE (methamphetamine) worths 36 bln kyat shipping to abroad seized by Myanmar Navy

According to the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, the Myanmar Navy seized over 36 billion kyats worth of ICE (methamphetamine), which was to be shipped abroad, in the Myanmar’s sea territory.

The Tatmadaw (Navy) conducted the inspection to the boat identified as Yan Linn Kyaw (4) wooden boat which was found at 135 miles away from southeast of Hainggyikyun Township in Ayeyawady Region at an estimated 3:30 pm on January 4th.

During the inspection, four men namely Aung Thein (aka) Wa Tote, Tuu Naing, Maung Zaw and Poe La Pyae along with 36.25 billion ICE (methamphetamine) were seized.

According to the investigation, Soe Kyaw (aka) Soe Soe Kyaw, who participated in the transportation of ICE (methamphetamine) at 11:30 pm on January 7th, was arrested at the port of Kannei Bridge, Taninthayi Region.

In addition, it was learned that the seized ICE (methamphetamine) were transported from the sea to the Kawthoung sea territory, about 135 miles southeast of Hainggyikyun Township, and will continue to be transported abroad through it, the police said.
