Shanni Nationalities Army condemn massacre against its people by Kuki rebels

The Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) issued a public announcement stating that Kuki-Chin terrorists associated with the PDF carried out a mass massacre, targeting over 40 Shanni ethnic civilians.
On January 15th, the Shanni National Unity Council (SNUC) and the Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) jointly issued the aforementioned announcement.
The announcement stated that on November 24, 2023, individuals identified as Kuki-Chin terrorists, also associated with the PDF, brutally murdered 37 innocent Shanni civilians and their families, including children, in Thanan Village, Aung Zeya Town, Sagaing Region.
The SNA further reported that on January 13, 2024, Kuki-Chin terrorists took the lives of four Shanni individuals from Thanan Village, located along the Myanmar-India border in Sagaing Region.
These brutalities are not only inhumane but also constitute a bullying act perpetrated by one ethnic group against another. The SNA strongly condemns these genocidal actions, as they are carried out with the intention of eradicating the entire Shanni ethnic group.
Hence, the SNA also warned by placing full responsibility for such massacres on the Kuki-Chin PDF group and any supporting organizations involved in committing genocide.
The SNA has additionally declared that there will be retaliation against any organization found guilty of committing genocide and seeking to extinguish the lives of those residing in Shanni territory.
