Silk Road from the Heart: Chinese foundation CFPD’s donation ceremony hosted in Yangon

The donation ceremony of stationeries, sports and training accessories, and other necessary items for the Practising Middle School, Yankin Education Degree College, Yangon by the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) has been held this morning (16 January).

The event was held at the Myanmar International Education Center within the Myanmar Sports Hotel, Thuwunna Stadium, Thingangyun Township, Yangon.

The donation ceremony marked as the ‘Silk Road from the Heart: Care for the Future’ which is themed as part of the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchange - 2024 to deepen the cultural connections and educational collaboration.

The event is jointly initiated by the CFPD and Myanmar Chinese Cooperation & Communication Center.

Counselor of the Embassy of the PRC in Myanmar Mrs. Li Qiao, Chairperson of China-Myanmar Friendship Association former Union Minister U Tin Oo, relevant officials from the Ministry of Education, and personnel from China-Myanmar organizations attended the event.

The Counselor Li Qiao stated in her speech at the event, “China’s willingness for friendship with Myanmar has been continuously prioritizing the Myanmar citizens from all walks of life. The China-Myanmar cooperation particularly aims for the benefits of the Myanmar people. The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar is pleased to support actively for the betterment of Myanmar education.”

The report further states that the Chinese Embassy also assists encouraging the Myanmar students to access further studies in China with scholarships. Mrs. Li Qiao remarked, “It is the emblem of good relationship between youths from both countries.”

The China Foundation for Peace and Development has been actively and deeply involved in Myanmar’s socio-economic development since a decade ago as a vital role in the China-Myanmar friendship and cultural exchange.

The donation items involve varieties of stationery, LED light bulbs, sports and training equipment, Swe Myo Pauk Paw Magazines and others amounted to ten million kyats.
