Students allowed to change test center due to conflicts in Rakhine

The Rakhine State government has greenlighted the students to change the test center due to the crisis and political conflicts happened within Rakhine State.

It was announced on 15 January after the cabinet members discussed for designating matriculation exam centers.

The upcoming matriculation exam is scheduled to be held on 11 March. It is forecasted that current political situations in Rakhine State will not favour the students with reasonable exam situation. Therefore, the Rakhine State government allowed the matriculation students to change the test center for the 2024 matriculation exam before seating numbers are out.

There are 73 test centers in Rakhine State set by the Department of Myanmar Examinations.

The upcoming 2024 matriculation exam will be held from 11-19 March. A total of 145,200 students have registered to sit the exam as of January 15, according to the Ministry of Education.

At present, Tatmadaw and the Rakhine insurgent AA are exchanging fire in Rakhine State.
