The SAC addressed disinformation circulating the alleged actions taken against certain Brigadier-Generals about an incident at the Laukkai Regional Control Command.

The State Administration Council's Information Team clarified that the reported actions taken by the military court against six Brigadier-Generals from the Laukkai Regional Control Command are untrue and declared the news as fake.

The viral news claiming that the Military Court has sentenced six Brigadier-Generals, including Brigadier-General Tun Tun Myint, who served as the temporary chairman of the Leading Body of the Kokang Self-Administered Zone, and Brigadier-General Zaw Win Myint, to death in the Kokang Self-Administered Zone is circulating on social media.

On January 5th, thousands of Myanmar Military security personnel surrendered to the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in Laukkai Township, located in the Kokang region.

Following their surrender to the MNDAA on January 5th in Laukkai Township, Myanmar military personnel, including Brigadier-General Tun Tun Myint, are now reportedly being transported to Lashio Township for military court proceedings.

In connection with the Laukkai Regional Control Command case, Major-General Zaw Min Tun, the spokesperson of the State Administration Council, stated that these Brigadier-Generals made their best efforts to ensure the safety of military family members and worked hard to uphold the bilateral friendship between Myanmar and China.
