The Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, U Zeyar Myo Aung, told The Statesman journal that Myanmar will invite the international community and host a large-scale tourism exhibition to showcase the country's tourist destinations to the world.
To facilitate the celebration of the Myanmar Tourism Fair 2025 (MTF-2025), U Kyaw Soe Win, the Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, met and discussed with the Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Federation and members of the Central Executive Committee on February 11 at the Ministry's Nilar Conference Room.
“The tourism exhibition will be held in Myanmar. Currently, we are in the process of preliminary coordination. This coordination involves the Myanmar Tourism Federation and its affiliated organizations, who are planning the annual tourism exhibition. People from around the world who are related to tourism will also come, and the aim is to promote Myanmar's tourism industry by presenting these plans," said U Zeyar Myo Aung.
If this can be successfully implemented, it will be beneficial as tourists will be able to visit various destinations in Myanmar, and through this, Myanmar's tourism packages can be resold, which is expected to attract more international tourists.
“Myanmar already has an attractive tourism market. We will invite ASEAN countries, China, India, Russia, and European countries. So, the goal is to make Myanmar's tourism industry better known to international tourism professionals. This is why we are planning to organize the Myanmar Tourism Fair,” he continued.
The Myanmar Tourism Fair 2025 will be held in Myanmar, and it is planned to take place in June, though the exact dates are not yet confirmed. It is reported that in the previous year (2024), approximately 1.06 million international tourists visited Myanmar. –
